'http://kbandstraining.com/kids-football-drills-2-step-sprint-out/ The best football drills for kids are simple drills that challenge a common movement or skill regularly used on the field of play. The 2 Step Sprint Out is a simple kids football drill, which allows for the young athlete to have complete focus on the kids football drill at hand. The football drill for kids will develop a basic movement in football, going from a lateral movement abruptly into a full out sprint. The set up for the kids football drill requires 4 Speed and Agility Cones, a set of Youth Kbands (both yellow and red bands) and an area large enough to perform the kids football drill. Set the four Speed and Agility Cones in a square, evenly placing the Speed and Agility Cones 3-5 yards apart. With the help of a coach or parent, young athletes will securely attach the Kbands just above their knees. After the Speed and Agility Cones are set-up and the Kbands are secured athletes will get in position to start the football drill for kids. Young athletes will begin at one of the back Speed and Agility Cones and explosively slide laterally toward the opposite Speed and Agility Cone. Once the young athlete has reached the opposite Speed and Agility Cone they will sprint as fast as they can through the Speed and Agility Cone directly in front of them. Athletes will alternate between a straight-ahead sprint out and an angled sprint. For the angled sprint out athletes will sprint across the square toward the diagonal Speed and Agility Cone at the top of the box. Athletes will perform two sets of the 2 Step Sprint Out from each side of the box (one straight ahead sprint out followed by an angled sprint out counts as one repetition). It is important for athletes to rotate their starting position to challenge lateral quickness going both left and right. As athletes begin to become more advanced at the kids football drill they should switch from the yellow bands to red bands. This added resistance will help challenge athletes and improve their development on key fundamentals. Coaches and parents need to give young athletes around 45 seconds of rest in between repetitions to ensure the young athlete is performing the kids football drill at full speed and with proper form. After completing the resisted repetitions of the kids football drill, athletes will remove the Kbands and perform 2 un-resisted sets of the football drill for kids.
